LifeBridge Northwest Hospital Earns Top Honor for Advancing Patient Safety

The Maryland Patient Safety Center (MPSC) has named LifeBridge Northwest Hospital the winner of the 2025 Minogue Award for Patient Safety Innovation for their project, “Gearing Up for Greatness—Using Continuous Improvement and HRO Principles to Create a High-Performing Nursing Unit.”

Greater Baltimore Medical Center received the Distinguished Achievement Award for their impactful patient safety initiative, “Using Greater Baltimore Medical Center’s Leadership System to Create a Nurse-Led Initiative to Support a Safe Reduction in NTSV C-Section Deliveries.”

“Winning the Minogue Award for ‘Gearing Up for Greatness’ reflects our unwavering commitment to the patient, our team, and our journey to become a high-reliability organization with zero patient harm.  With an energized, multidisciplinary team focused on the patient, we will continue to Care Bravely, driving innovation and setting new expectations to deliver the highest quality of patient care and staff engagement,” said Craig Carmichael, President and COO of LifeBridge Northwest Hospital.

This year’s winners were selected from nearly 50 submissions by a panel of healthcare experts.
